My throat looks like I gargled with and swallowed a hot coal, but I’m alive! Alive and surprisingly well. As a person extremely versed in the horrors of strep throat, I must say that this tonsillectomy can’t shake a stick at that god-awful sickness. I feel like I could run a marathon, or more realistically throw back a beer and burrito.
(Now, this whole happy-happy-joy-joy attitude could be the Percocet talking; it wears off at 5:00 p.m., so I very well may be back at that time to rescind the preceding paragraph, and curse the day my doctor was born; but as of now, I feel great).

What????!!!! No Ice Cream??!!! I would get a second opinion, seriously.......I'm so glad things went well though, that is excellent.
I know! Supposedly dairy causes mucus, (which they tell me after the surgery). But I am eating raspberry sherbet, which in my book, is close enough, especially mixed with Percocet. ;)
Yay! Leila! You are alive! ;)
I saw you commented on my blog, and thought...Whoa?! Is she up and about and on the pc! You are one resilient little lady.
Get your package yet? :)
Hooray! Glad your doing well! I knew you'd be fine.
Given the choice, I'll take pain over fear ANY day of the week.

I'm so pleased not to be dead, it's all I can do to stop from dancing! No package yet, I'll let you know as soon as I get it, I can't wait!

You took the words out of my mouth, as long as I know what I'm suffering from, I'm fine. It's the uncertainty that kills me.
Leila!! I am so happy you came through the surgery and lived to tell the tale! Seriously though, I'm very glad to hear everything went well. Enjoy the percocet and keep us updated on how you're doing!

Very happy to hear your little procedure went well! I figured it would, but it's hard to reassure an admitted and proud hypochodriac!
How much time do you get off work?
Hi Leila,
Haven't heard from you in a while. I imagine it probably hurts a bit after surgery. My thoughts and prayers are still with you.
A couple of years ago I got a biopsy on the thing on the back of my tongue. By day two, the pain was radiating deep into my right ear and into place I didn't even know existed. I imagine that a tonsillectomy must feel disgustingly similar.
For almost a week, I ate nothing but strained, pureed, luke warm cream soups.
I went back to work on day four but couldn't talk.
Hang in there!
Barbora
