Toro, Toro

This weekend has been pretty mellow. No panic attacks, no heart attacks, at least no major ones.

Kristen linked to a good site, paniccure.com, that gave the analogy of a panic attack as a dog who will only chase you if you run. It also explains that the sensations of the panic attack are completely normal and harmless, but what is abnormal is the anxious person's reaction to it.

Apparently, people who experience these attacks are extremely courageous, creative and on the verge of genius-hood. Well, maybe not the last one, but they do say that panic can be exhilarating if you embrace it properly.

So, here I am, like the matador waiving the red flag. Panic, come and get me!

Hey Leila - Glad to hear your weekend went well. And I'm glad to see you so determined to fight this thing. I've kinda gotten there myself. Also, that book by Lucinda Bassett talks a lot about the same thing - people with panic attacks tend to be more creative and intelligent. She has a lot of good tips on how to use those traits to take control of your life and make it what you want. I would really recommend you get it.

I'm so glad I came across your site. I feel like we have a lot in common and it makes me feel not so alone. Maybe we can actually help each other through this. If you try anything that seems to work, as always, let me know.

Peace,
Kristen

Okay, you sold me on Lucinda Bassett. I can’t turn down a book that praises my creativity and intelligence. I’ll be sure to post my thoughts.

It’s definitely encouraging to know that there are others out there who are fighting the same fight! Believe me, if I find anything even remotely useful, I’ll be the first to share.
