Medication

I haven't been shy about my apprehension towards medication. But I must say that recent online discussions and articles have started to sway my opinion. Apparently, many people have achieved tangible results through this method of treatment. So, I thought I'd post this article, in case anyone is interested.

So, I'm not the posterchild for paxil or anything, but I have to say, since I started taking it...I'm conclusively more sane and rational than before, and far more able to enjoy what we call "living."

I really try to view it like a disease. Treat it.

I take paxil and xanax every day and I couldn't live without it!

I am also starting to consider taking something too, I really need a break from the constant worry, it is starting to really weigh me down. It might be a good thing.

You're right. It is a disease, and a debilitating one. It deserves to be treated. I just can't decide with which method. I used to be indecisive about this issue but now I'm not sure.

Michelle:
You're definitely not alone. I've heard that tons of times. You're camp is getting to me!

Tournesol:
You try it first and tell me what you think. ;)

Okay, well if you need an extra push to get you there, talk to me about my experiences. *smiles

I've had weeks where all I could do was lay in bed and shake from panic. NO FREAKIN' FUN!

Thank God for paxil. I'd recommend it as it's more geared towards people who have slight ocd, and more anxiety issues than depression issues...or depression fueled by anxiety. W

Probably the best thing I ever did - use Lexapro for anxiety and it helps me lead a 'normal' life. I take Xanax when my other tools (relaxation exercises, distraction, humour, buddies etc.) don't work. Xanax is not a drug you should take for an extended period of time. The SSRI's coupled with cognitive therapy can be a life save for those of us w/ panic disorders. (yes it is just a disease like anything else)
